Description:HART is currently collecting applications for a Scheduler I. This position coordinates with the Manager of Service Planning and the Scheduler II on all issues that pertain to fleet scheduling. Tabulates, gathers, and analyzes operational data necessary to evaluate service delivery.
Duties:• Develops and modifies schedules for fixed route bus service, to include the preparation of bus schedules, work assignments, runs, and rosters.
• Using scheduling software, maintains running times, trip notes, deadhead links, layover times, timepoints, and destination sign codes; develops and evaluates pull-out, pull-in, and other deadhead routes.
• Responsible for managing bid units in Trapeze Ops for inclusion into bids for specific employee types. Supports scheduling related tasks for Operator bids, to include final rostering, operations review, and conducting, building, and loading the bid. In Trapeze Ops software, handles work rule violations during the bidding process.
• Provides cost summary/pay to platform data for each mark-up.
• Analyze and create vehicle blocks in conformance with vehicle quotas in order to optimize the resources to increase productivity and decrease overtime.
• Supports various presentations and preparation of presentations for Route Review meetings.
• Develops and maintains annunciation files, to include stop call announcement books. Acts as a liaison with Operations division to update AVL ennunciator data for each schedule change or other modifications; reviews new and modified route segments for appropriate announcements.
• In Trapeze, maintains the bus stop database that includes approximately 3700 active bus stops in the Authority’s system. Acts as a liaison with Capital Planning to ensure accurate placement of bus stops in various GIS related databases; maintains historic records for stop placement, relocation, and elimination.
• Uses Trapeze scheduling software, develops route traces and patterns, maintains running times, trip notes, deadhead links, layover times, timepoints, and destination sign codes for buses and Google. Develops and evaluate pull-out and pull-in for fleet utilization.
• Supports scheduling related functions for schedule changes and related minimum three Operator bids per year, as specified by bargaining agreements and deemed necessary by the Authority, for fixed route, paratransit, flex and streetcar.
• Assist with the development of runcuts through input and analysis of operational legality in compliance with run type quotas and union contractual requirement.
• Provides source data to Graphics for the development and modification of public timetables; reviews timetables and other passenger information for accuracy.
• Uses Trapeze FX to perform functions to prepare stop and trip data for AVL, APC, and Google exports. Acts as liaison with Operations and IS Departments by providing documentation of schedule changes. Ensures data integrity for AVL, APC, and Google exports.
• In Trapeze, develops, edits, and maintains polygons, maps, and other ancillary data features as necessary.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:• Four years of related experience and/or three years of analytical data entry experience.
• Associates Degree in a related field or two years of related field experience for each year of college.
• Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems, as well as a computer for both data entry, word processing, and/or accounting purposes.
• Computer applications Trapeze Software (FX, Blockbuster, and Ops), Microsoft Office Suite, Automated Passenger Count report module, and Orb-Cad.
• Valid Florida driver’s license.
• Trapeze certification preferred.
